Spell Maker Pro puts a powerful new teaching technology right at your finger tips. Don’t worry about Speech Manager or MacinTalk's inadequacies for teaching phonics. Educational Computer Resources has finally broken the sound barrier. Now for the first time give your students real human dictated spelling test. Each spelling list can contain an almost unlimited amount of words and sounds. Teach entire languages or assemble priceless vocabulary list in seconds! Best of all it's very simple to use. Just click on the “Add Word” button any type the word you want. Then the “Record Dialog Box” pops up for you to record the correct pronunciation of the word. That's it, all you need is the standard Macintosh microphone and a desire to teach real world phonics. Makes as many lists as you like. Switch back and fourth between list with just a mouse click. Don’t worry about running out of RAM or bogging down your program performance because “Spell Maker Pro” stores it’s spelling List files on disk! For this reason, you can exchange list with your friends or buy new ones from us. Spell Maker Pro v1.5, Alphabet Pro v1.1 and Sight Word Pro v.1. can exchange word lists!
This new version of Spell Maker Pro will enable users to hide the desktop from their students. Select "Hide Desktop" from the edit menu if you would like to make the program child proof! Parents with younger children will appreciate this feature.
With "Spell Maker Pro", your spelling list will come to life in true animated sequences on the color screen. Students must spell the word in question by clicking on the correct alphabet block or typing the equivalent letter key. As you enter each letter, the human pronunciation of the alphabet characters will be heard. This will accurately define to beginning readers what the letter and word pronunciations should really sound like. Since users can record and edit the letter and word pronunciations, this program can be used to teach other languages as well.
For the sake of downloading size, this online version of Spell Maker Pro comes without the letter sounds recorded. You must record the letters with your own voice first before using the program properly. Be careful not to make the letter recordings too long otherwise you will make the flow of human speech awkward.
